Starting point for the K-1150 Offshore
- A sturdy and sporty ship
- No nonsense look
- Built for covering long distances quickly in the most reliable way
- Suitable for Seas and inland waterways
- A ship that will also please the former sailing boat owner
- Built in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way
Hull
The Offshore is deservedly reminiscent of a KNRM lifeboat (Dutch Royal National Lifeboat Institution). It is the ideal ship to cross a lake or seas. The underwater ship with its deep V-bottom, wide spray rails guarantee a dry, steady and comfortable crossing even on rough water. The hull is made of 6 mm. seawater resistant aluminium and has ribs every 40 cm. The 70 cm. high stainless steel guardrail intensifies the feeling of safety when you walk along the wide gangways. The railing does not continue on the front side of the ship. This way it is always easy to go aboard or ashore.
Cockpit
The cockpit is spacious and has easy access via the gangway. Here too the crew is well-protected against weather influences. It goes without saying that the ship is fitted with grabrails in the crucial places. The spacious storage space under the cockpit seats continues under the gangway. Via a door in the stern the swimming platform can be reached easily. In the cockpit floor there is a large hatchway via which the engines and other technical equipment are within easy reach.
Interior
The workmanship in this model is really outstanding. The design of the interior comes in a modular system; within this system you have got plenty of options to adapt lay-out, colours and type of wood. The large number of options available enable you to combine sheer navigating and unprecedented luxury. You are the to decide what your K-1150 Offshore will look like!
Wheelhouse
From the wheelhouse you have an excellent view, whether sailing quickly or slowly. The large dashboard and adjustable control seat contribute to that. The navigation equipment and the engine controls are within easy reach and easily readable. The other equipment is placed above the front windows against the ceiling. In fine weather conditions the three cockpit doors can be opened completely. The spotlights can be dimmed. The passenger area is partly situated under the wheelhouse.
Galley
The galley is located on starboard. The presence of the two portholes and the escape hatch make the galley surprisingly light and spacious. Worktops are available in a variety of materials and colours. You will find lots of storage room here, to enable you to remain on board for a longer period of time.
Bathroom unit
The bathroom unit is located opposite the galley. The separate shower area is entirely made of maintenance-free synthetic panels. Here too you can have your say with respect to colour combinations. The bathroom unit has two portholes, one of which can be opened. An electrical toilet is a standard accessory. Of course it is connected to a wastewater tank.
Passenger area
The passenger area is accessible via the galley. This spacious 2-person quarter berth partly finds itself under the floor and seat of the wheelhouse. One of the portholes can be opened.
Master cabin
The master cabin is at the front of the K-1150, and can be equipped with two separate beds or a “French” bed. Here too spotlights that can be dimmed are standard. The size of the wardrobe makes it suitable for a long stay on board. An escape hatch and 3 portholes guarantee sufficient incidence of light and ventilation.
Technical equipment
The technical equipment is easily accessible via a large hatch in the cockpit floor. The room is totally insulated. Installation has been performed and checked in accordance with the obligatory CE-standard. Amongst other things automatic extinguishing equipment, boiler and charger/converter are mounted here. Apart from that this room provides you with storage space for bikes or a dinghy. Two engines are standard in the K-1150; YANMAR type 6LPA-STZTP2, (235kW/315hp)
More powerful engines are optional.
With 2 x 235kW (315hp) the speed will be just over 33 knots (60km/h).
Insulation
To make winter sailing possible the vessel is entirely insulated.
Price
Prices with 2 x 315hp start from € 480,000,= - € 550.000,=

PROPERTIES OF ALUMINIUM IN A ROW
Light in weight
The building material chosen for the K-1150 Offshore is seawater resistant aluminium. The hull is 6mm thick. Deck and superstructure are 5mm thick. Every 40 cm there is a rib. The diesel tanks as well as the water tank are incorporated in the hull. Thus a very reliable and strong structure can be assured. Aluminium is light. Its weight is only one third of the weight of steel. A lighter vessel performs better with lower fuel consumption.
Sturdy and safe
The use of aluminium makes this a sturdy and safe ship. The risk of a hole in the hull in case of collision is much smaller than with polyester. This makes aluminium yachts safer; especially so at sea, with long distances to the shore in ‘S.O.S.’ situations.
Longer lifespan
Aluminium does not rust. Aluminium reacts with the oxygen in the air right away. This means that on the outside aluminium will be covered by a thin layer of aluminium oxide. Further contact of the inside of a piece of aluminium with oxygen will then be impossible. So the metal is not liable to corrosion. The first seaworthy aluminium yacht, dating from 1936, is still in service now.
Comfortable
Aluminium provides a stiff body which is hardly susceptible to vibrations. Also in case of choppy seas and swell an aluminium vessel behaves very well.
Low cost of maintenance
In fact there is no need to paint an aluminium ship. Thus maintenance and construction costs are saved on. An aluminium body can be repaired easily and is less vulnerable to slight damage like scratches.
Flexible building material
Polyester yachts are built with the help of a mould. The mould has fixed measurements. Each hull built with this mould is identical with the previous hull. This is the usual building method for mass-produced yachts. An aluminium hull is constructed with its own deck and ribs. Each ship is tailor-made. Even during construction adaptations can still be realized. Aluminium can be remodelled easily, which also makes complex round bilges possible.
An investment that keeps its value
An aluminium ship has a long lifespan and thus keeps its value.
Environment
Bauxite is the ore from which aluminium is extracted. 37kg bauxite ultimately yields 1kg of aluminium. The established world supply of bauxite will last longer than the supply of most other raw materials. Cf. table underneath.
